In existence since April 2013, Waltham Forest CCG plans and buys healthcare for the residents of the North London borough of Waltham Forest. This can be anything from working with local people to design the healthcare services they want, to buying services from local healthcare providers, such as hospitals. On top of this, they are responsible for monitoring the services commissioned to make sure they work as well as possible.
A large proportion of the residents of Waltham Forest were unaware of the CCG’s existence and within those who were, many didn’t know what the CCG’s purpose was. This was counterproductive to the CCG’s efforts to build dialogue with and encourage feedback in order to improve services.
What we did:
We developed an advertising campaign to raise the profile of the CCG and increase understanding of its role in the community.
Adverts were placed in local newspapers and online, outdoor advertising was carried on buses and at high profile sites in the Underground stations which service the borough and a leaflet was distributed to residents across the borough.
The CCG is delighted with our work so far and has already noticed an upturn in recognition. Consequently they have extended the campaign from its initial three month duration to an ambitious 12 months.
